"I would definitely recommend The Actors Workshop.  It was a challenging and helpful 6-week course.  TAW helped me grow as an actor.  It helped me get out of my comfort zone, and begin taking more risks and making bolder choices in my work. I am a lot more comfortable working on characters and genres that I used to be intimidated by. "Thank you, thank you, thank you for putting together The Actors Workshop.  The intensity of the workshop worked for me.  It took me to a higher level of thought and concentration.  At first I was pretty intimidated but soon realized that there was more to it.  I loved how Michael was able to really look us in the eye and break down the walls, masks, inhibitions and help us perform at a whole new level.  He is not afraid to break the mold and expect the best from us.  This class taught me to really branch out. To feel the emotion of what I am playing. I remember the first monologue I did, it was an intense one, and he told me I did not do my homework. I thought I had...but then I realized I was simply touching the surface of what I could feel and express in a scene.  After his advice, the next week felt more real. I even cried in the scene..wow it IS possible to go there...of course it took some honesty from Michael to get me there.  There are so many ways this class helped me. The best example I can give, came on the last day of class. I did a scene with  a fellow actor and although not perfect I felt the progress we had made and I think the other actors did too.  I felt that transformation of becoming the character.  It was beautiful and it did not happen overnight.  I am thrilled by the honesty Michael gave us during the past 6 weeks and hope to continue to challenge myself as he has challenged us." ~ Stacey Turner
